Upcoming Changes in August

Howdy all!

WE’VE BEEN SCHEDULED! We’ll be moving the servers starting on Monday, but our services will be down starting this afternoon, Friday August 9th 2019 at 4:00PM for some preparatory work before the move starts.

In a few weeks, starting on August 5th 2019, CPT Galaxy will be moving! We’re moving into a space in a new data center on campus that will be better suited for serving our cluster and provides a higher level of physical and network security for the data we host. This does mean that we will have some downtime while we complete the move and the reconfiguration of services.

Please expect Galaxy, Apollo, and all other CPT sites and services to be down for at least August 5th through August 9th and possibly continued into next week, through to the 16th. We hope to have everything moved and up by the end of the first week but we have to coordinate a lot with other groups to make this happen. We will also be upgrading some hardware and increasing our data storage capacity while we move, so we’ll be better suited for higher computationally intensive tools!
