Galaxy Tool News: JBrowse-in-Galaxy v0.4 released

The latest version of my JBrowse Galaxy wrapper (TAMU, Public) has been released! It features lots of exciting new features:

Support for dataset collectionSupport for all coding tablesAdvanced styling options for colouring and colour coding your tracksMultiple file selections (easily select + style a whole group of tracks at once)Simplified tool interface (in places. More features in other places!)

Underlying version of JBrowse updated to 1.12.0 release

The CPT is starting to locally work towards using full gene models for interoperability with other genomic resources. Pictured here we have gff3 datasets from three gene callers, all of which have been automatically added and coloured from a single selection in the Galxaxy tool interface.

This above graphic was produced with the updated JBrowse tool. As you can see, it’s incredibly easy to select a whole range of files and place them under the “Gene Calls” section. The colours are automatically chosen from Brewer palettes, meaning less configuration required for beautiful genome browsers.

JBrowse in Galaxy tool UI — The simplified interface with more obvious organisation of data. Genetic code is now configurable, tracks are organised by an overarching “Track Group” corresponding to groupings in JBrowse. Multiple files can be selected easing one of the major pain points in the previous version.
