When in the final throes of polishing and proofreading a phage genome’s annotations for submission, you often notice small changes that need to be made. This usually requires back-tracking to an editable file format and can be particularly frustrating when changes get made in a file that cannot be back-converted. Our latest tool is there to mitigate this issue: the Five Column Tabular to Genbank tool.
An annotated genome is usually submitted to NCBI in a tabular 5-column table format. This can be generated from a Genbank file in CPT Galaxy, or in external programs like Sequin or Artemis. Usually, the conversion is one way. Now, you can interconvert between Genbank and 5-column table forward (Genbank to Five Column Format tool) and backward (Five Column Tabular to Genbank tool).
