Does something look different around here? The tool list has been completely reorganized! There are new section headers and groupings to aid in navigating to the exact tool you need, as well as discovering tools you may not have known we have, so do some exploring!
Additionally, you will notice a section called ‘Commonly Used Tools‘ where we have collated the tools that receive highest stand-alone use in our Galaxy instance.
Brand-new tools, whether original code written by our developers or newly acquired from elsewhere, will be labelled with ‘Experimental‘ while they are validated. The tag can be removed after bugs are worked out.
Another section called ‘Deprecated‘ is where tools with duplicate functionality, code logic/dependency issues, or tools with preferred replacements will live for a period prior to removal.
Pro Tip: you can create your own list of favorite tools in Galaxy. Simply click the empty Favorite star symbol in the header of any loaded tool.
Then, search for your favorites in the tool panel by either typing in #favorites or clicking the Favorites Star next to Upload Data.
The new tool organization strategy was implemented by Cory Maughmer with input from many other team members. We hope you find the navigation experience on Galaxy much more useful. Please email the support team if you have any questions or comments!
